Landmark Collegiate is excited to announce that best-selling author, Sigmund Brouwer, will be our guest for the day on Thursday, February 8th.  Sigmund will make a group presentation on story to the grades 5-12 first thing in the morning.  Then he will do smaller group presentations about the writing process in the classrooms for grades 11/12, grades 9/10, grades 7/8 and grades 5/6.  During lunch he will host a writers club for students who are more serious about their writing.

In the evening we will host him at a Family Literacy Night in the LC Learning Commons (LCLC): “This lively presentation is for parents to share with children, and Sigmund helps parents understand how important story is as a motivator for their children to read and write.  It involves music trivia where families compete as teams to earn prizes.  Sigmund also uses this opportunity to emphasize how much a difference that teachers make in the lives of students, and how parents can help teachers in the educational process.”

Mr. Brouwer born and raised in Red Deer, AB has written nearly 30 novels and has almost 4 million books in print.  Please check out his website at www.sigmundbrouwer.com or https://www.rockandroll-literacy.com/schools.html to learn more about him and his presentation.  You may want to read one of his books before February 8, so visit our library to find one.
