The second semester is now into full swing. Congratulations to all our bands who performed so well at this year’s Optimist Festival. All bands received high marks and complimentary remarks from the adjudicators. The Senior Jazz band is now preparing to play at the Brandon Jazz Festival, March 19 and 20.

Congratulations to all our LC basketball teams for their participation in this year’s basketball season. They represented the community of Landmark very well. A huge thank you to our coaches Mrs. Christine Welsh – Grade 7 boys, Mr. Jordan Penner –Grade 7 girls, Noah Friesen and Zack Giesbrecht – Grade 8 boys, Mr. Howard Plett and Derek Reimer – JV boys, and Mr. Matt Feakes, Mr. Nathan Plett and Devon Laurie –
Varsity Boys.

We continue to provide opportunities and information to our senior high students in preparation for life after high school. Last week our grade 12’s spent some time at open houses at Red River Community College and U of M. On Tuesday, March 17 the grade 11’s will be attending the career symposium at the Convention Centre and the grade 10 Lifeworks class are having a number of presentations from various groups such as the RCMP and Maple Leaf Foods on various employment opportunities available in their organizations.

The Grade 9 Parent Orientation Evening at the SRSS is on Thursday, March 12, from 6:00-8:30 pm. The evening will consist of a 30-minute presentation and an Open House.  Guided tours will also be available and teachers and counselors will be present to answer specific questions.

Many of our students are busy with after school rehearsals for the Musical “The Wizard of Oz”. The Musical will be held on April 30 and May 1. Tickets to go on sale on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

Grade 7 and  8 report cards will be posted on the parent portal on Friday, March 20 and grade 9 – 12 reports cards will be posted on Friday, April 17. Parent-teacher conferences and Showcase of Learning for all grades will be April 23 from 4:00 – 7:30. We would like to provide further opportunity for parents to see what their child is doing in school.  Teachers will have stations set up in their class where students can show parents what they are learning in their courses. Last year we had terrific response from parents about this evening. Please come out and support your child’s learning. Refreshments will be served.

ISCF Is having their annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 14, from 9: 00 to 11:00 am. Donations collected at the breakfast will go towards their retreat in May.

Divisional Inservices are on Friday, March 13 and Monday, April 13. Spring Break is from March 29 to April 5 and Good Friday is on Friday, April, 10. No classes on these days
