Principal’s Message:  We had a wonderful graduation convocation and banquet to celebrate our Grade 12 class and wish them well as they embark on the next phase of their life journey. Congratulations to all!

I would like to review our staffing for next year.

Leaving Landmark Collegiate:

    • Mr. Rob Giesbrecht has formally resigned his position at LC. We are grateful for all the contributions Mr. Giesbrecht made to student learning at LC over the years. In the classroom, coaching teams, and generally cheering all our students to be their best, Mr. Giesbrecht’s time here will always be remembered with fondness.
    • As has been previously announced, Ms. Broesky will be leaving her position as Vice Principal to become the Vice Principal of Blumenort School. Ms. Broesky’s care for students, her incredible organizational skills, and her boundless optimism were true gifts to this school. We wish her all the best in Blumenort. Mr. Brandon Kipe will be the Vice Principal next year. He is currently the VP at Mitchell Elementary School.  Mr. Kipe’s wisdom and constant smile are sure to be welcome additions to LC.
    • You also know that I will be moving back into retirement next year. Ms. Vanessa David will be the new principal next year. Ms. David’s experience, from leading a small Christian school to teaching at SRSS, to VP at Blumenort, will all be of significant benefit as she steps in to guide this wonderful school.
    • Mr. Pecold has taught at Landmark Collegiate for 6 ½ years. In that time his sense of humour, his hands-on lessons, and his commitment to the learning and well-being of his students have all been greatly appreciated. Mr. Pecold has accepted a position in Niverville High School for next year. We wish him well! We are pleased to announce that Ms. Ocean Nickel will be joining our Grade 7/8 teaching team. Welcome Ms. Nickel.
    • Also joining our staff until December is Ms. Elli Friesen. Ms. Friesen will be here until Ms. Andres returns from her maternity leave.
    • We want to wish Ms. Jada Wieler well as she takes her incredible start as a teacher to Brandon to teach middle school students. In addition to her teaching skills, Ms. Wieler will be remembered at LC for coaching our Grade 7/8 girls basketball team to a championship! All the best. We welcome Ms. Amanda Bilevicius as our Grade 7/8  teacher next year.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead this school the past 8 months. The staff have been wonderful to work with – they truly are a gift to this community. The students who walk through our doors each day have been an   absolute joy and a blessing! To have the chance to be part of helping these students grow as learners and to walk alongside them as they grow in character has been an incredible experience. Thank you!

Thank you to everyone for your support over this past year. Landmark Collegiate thrives when there is a strong network of support from parents, coaches and volunteers, businesses, community teams and organizations, churches, and Flatland. It is through this network that our students are able to excel.  On behalf of everyone at Landmark Collegiate, we wish you all a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. As we wrap up this year, I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. Your active participation and feedback are crucial in helping us continually improve and grow, as we work to create an environment where our students can truly thrive.
