Many students have been busy participating on our six volleyball teams, and we enjoyed our first concert of the year. I continue to be amazed by the talent and enthusiasm our students show for extra-curricular activities. Spirit Week was another highlight—thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and school spirit!
As we move into the colder months, we look forward to wrapping up our first term and connecting with families about student learning. Our teachers are working hard to help students finish the term strong and feel proud of their accomplishments.

Fundraisers
Thank you to all of you who took part in our Chocolate Almond Fundraiser in October! Congratulations to Diesel, Jenalee, and Stella, who sold the most cases. We appreciate everyone’s participation. These funds help to cover the costs of field trips, athletics, and grad. Our PTA is also running a fundraiser selling Stone City Coffee and Bothwell Cheese/Archie’s Meats. The order forms are due on November 3rd. Please ensure cheques are made payable to Landmark PTA.
Report Cards & Parent Teacher
Term 1 is drawing to a close already, which marks our first report card of the year. Report cards will be available on Parent Portal at 4 pm on Friday, November 14th. We highly encourage you, as parents and caregivers, to read your child’s report card and discuss it with your child. We know that parent involvement is one of the biggest indicators of success for students, even once they reach high school! Parent-teacher will follow on November 20th.
Parent Portal Student/Hot Lunch Fees
A reminder to check Parent Portal for outstanding student fees. Please take care of these and any outstanding fees from previous years as soon as you are able. As of November 3rd, any student owing student fees will not be able to order hot lunch on credit, but will need to pay for it up front before ordering. If you are struggling to pay this year or previous years’ student fees, please contact the office to have a conversation.
Remembrance Day Assembly
We will have our Remembrance Day Assembly on November 7th, starting at 10:45 am. The assembly will include student readers and the choir. Family and community members are welcome to join us as we honour those who have served our country.
Athletics
All of our Grade 7–12 volleyball teams are competing in Zone Championships this month. We wish each team the best as they finish their seasons. Good luck, especially to our JV and Varsity teams as they compete for a chance to advance to Provincials.
As we wrap up volleyball, we start looking toward basketball season. Anyone interested in playing on a team this year should talk to Mr. Enns.
Music News
Students in choir will attend Choral Fest in Winnipeg on November 19th and 20th. Junior Choir will go on November 19th and Senior Choir on November 20th. After that, we look forward to our Christmas concert on December 10th at the school.
Grad News
On November 18th and 19th, grade 12 students will have the opportunity to attend a Post-Secondary Expo at Niverville High School. Thirteen different institutions, including trade schools, universities, Bible Colleges, and more, will be there with information about their schools. Students should let Mr. Kipe know if they are interested in attending as soon as possible.
Take Our Kid To Work Day
Take Our Kid To Work Day is Wednesday, November 5th. A reminder for students to bring in their permission forms by Monday, November 3rd indicating which workplace they will be attending and experiencing that day. There will be no school for grade 9 that day.
