November Newsletter

What a wonderful October we experienced! The pleasant weather provided an ideal backdrop for our cross-country runners and final soccer matches. Throughout the month, our students actively engaged in several career-planning initiatives, including the Post-Secondary Expo, the High School Apprenticeship Program, and an informative presentation by the RCMP. In music, students participated in the Eastman Choral Workshop and delivered an outstanding first school concert of the academic year. As we move into November, please look out for Term 1 report cards and details regarding Parent-Teacher conferences. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s academic journey. We look forward to connecting with you during Parent-Teacher night.

School Fundraiser

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in this year’s Chocolate Almond fundraiser. Thanks to your tremendous support, we successfully raised $4,500. Congratulations to our top seller, Tessa in Grade 7, along with Kolton and Diesel, who tied for second place! The Grade 7 class claimed the title of top-selling class and will celebrate with a pizza party.

The PTA has officially launched its latest fundraiser featuring Bothwell Cheese and Stone City Coffee. Last year’s PTA fundraising efforts successfully funded the construction of our new Gaga Ball Pit for student recreation. Order forms will be sent home with students shortly.

Report Cards & Parent-Teacher

As we approach the end of Term 1 for both middle and high school students, Report Cards will be accessible via the Parent Portal on November 20 at 4:00 PM. We encourage you to review these with your child to discuss their academic progress and connect with their teachers. Parent-Teacher conferences will take place on November 26th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Appointment scheduling will be made available through Parent Portal at a later date. 

Athletics- Alumni Volleyball Game

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Alumni vs. Current Students Volleyball Game on the evening of November 17th. If you are interested in participating or know alumni who would like to play, please spread the word!

Our volleyball teams advance to playoffs this November. Please stay tuned for game schedules and locations to come out and support our 96ers!

Students are also invited to join our morning basketball and volleyball drop-in sessions. These informal programs are open to all grade and skill levels for extra practice and fun. Volleyball runs on Thursday mornings from 7:45 am – 8:45 am, and basketball on Mondays  & Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM.

Music

The school choirs will have the opportunity to attend Choral Fest again this year with the junior choir on November 20th, and the senior choir on November 27th. 

The Senior Band is planning a Band Trip for May 2027. To help offset travel costs, students will be launching several fundraising initiatives, including Poinsettia and Perogy sales. Additionally, they will host a Christmas Market in the school gymnasium on the evening of December 4th.

Grad News

Graduation ceremonies will be held on Monday, June 28th. Convocation will begin at 3:00 PM at Landmark Collegiate, followed by the banquet at 6:00 PM at Evergreen Village. Everyone in our school community is welcome to attend the convocation. 

Grad hoodie order forms have been sent to the students through their Grad Google Classroom. Please discuss this order and payment with your grad.
