RCMP ICE Unit March 21

Constable Gord Olson from the RCMP ICE Unit (Internet Child Exploitation Unit) will be back in Landmark on March 21 to talk to students (afternoon) and parents (6:30 pm) about to how use our devices safely and appropriately. He will talk about the risks of sexting and other behaviors that many are involved with. We are now fully into the second semester of the school year. We had a few staff changes at the beginning of February. Rock & Roll Literacy is coming to Landmark Collegiate

Landmark Collegiate is excited to announce that best-selling author, Sigmund Brouwer, will be our guest for the day on Thursday, February 8th.  Sigmund will make a group presentation on story to the grades 5-12 first thing in the morning.  Then he will do smaller group presentations about the writing process in the classrooms for grades 11/12, grades 9/10, grades 7/8 and grades 5/6.  During lunch he will host a writers club for students who are more serious about their writing.… Read More

Alana Plett Awarded the Award of Excellence

During the first semester, the Grade 11 ELA class entered poems in the National Young Writer’s Poetry Contest.  16 students qualified to have their poem published in their annual anthology.  Alana Plett was awarded the Award of Excellence for her poem.  Congratulations Alana.

Nolan Plett Finishes 2nd

Congratulations to Nolan Plett for finishing 2nd in the Grade 12 Mathematics Contest.  There were 300 students from across Manitoba who participated in the test. Nolan was awarded a $1000 tuition remission from the University of Manitoba along with $700 award from the Manitoba Association of Mathematics Teachers.
